I am a Hispanic-born, naturalized citizen from NYC. In my younger days, I was a committed Democrat of the Scoop Jackson-Harry Truman school. These Dems loved their country and were PRINCIPLED Democrats. But as so many have said (including Ambassor to UN Jeane Fitzpatrick, commentator Mona Charen, and Ronald Reagan), I didn’t leave the Democrat party; the party left me. From the unbelievable display of anarchy at the 1968 Chicago convention to the ideological embrace of abortion and same-sex marriage, Dems today would not be recognized by those I admired in “the previous century.” I too am voting for Sarah Palin and the man she’s running with (though I still have trouble completing trusting him).

Barack Obama and those who are doing his heavy lifting (i.e., character assassination on his behalf) are so truly undeserving of my vote. When you really look at what he says, what he has done (Hilary supporters should never forgive him), and who has/is supporting him (Bill Ayers anyone?), you realize Obama is profoundly dangerous to the country I pledged my allegiance to when I became a citizen.

I’m sickened by the fact that women who claimed to be for Hillary wouldn’t even fight the machine when the nomination was ripped out from under her. Now they attack another woman and take great glee at out tearing her to shreds to support the same machine who took their candidate DOWN. One group of people are looking to make sure this doesn’t happen again. wewillnotbesilenced2008.com Women need to look and see that the party has betrayed us and now we are betraying ourselves.

I love the PUMA women! What a breath of fresh air. I was a long time liberal Democrat, an active Democrat (fundraisers, door-to-door, precinct committee person, district secretary). Over the years I drifted to the right (I call myself a Libertarian now) but I still thought of myself as a Democrat. It was part of my identity and hard to let go. The day I officially severed ties with the Dems was the day I heard a (so-called) feminist call Monica Lewinsky a “little slut.” Did these women I idolized for so many years stand for nothing? Was it all meaningless? Ugh. It is disgusting what they are doing to Palin. I am so excited to hear that many women (and not just on the right) are fed up with this stuff.

Apparently just being a political woman is sexist– according to Campbell Brown that is. She said that McCain is exploiting her sexuality for his campaign…what? Campbell Brown is a woman with no ammunition left to help the Obama campaign and is grasping at straws. Women bringing other women down for the sake of pro-Obama politics… you called it right.

I too feel I have found a home here. I think the “Why McCain” section on this site, sums up my views 100%. I am not a concervative or a Republican. I’m not really anything. I am just a voter who is sick and tired of the extremest taking over both parties because the rest of us spend all our time arguing.

We are in a political climate, where our economy is in jeopardy, we have everything to loose, and somehow it is okay to say “don’t vote for this guy because “I photoshoped an ape crapping on his head”, or “don’t vote for this woman because her husband is having incest with their kids”.

While Hillary would be a better VP (or President) than Palin- Palin certainly has as much experience as Obama who IS the presidential candidate.

It is gratifying to read this post and so many of the responses who ethically object to the hatred emanating from Obama supporters.

Both Senator Clinton and Governor Palin have been systematically bashed by the media, by Obama’s political minions, and by the youth-for-Hitler brainwashed kiddies from Camp Obama. “Feminists” who have joined in these attacks have no real concept of feminism and are nothing more than hacks for a male power structure.

I have affiliated with liberal positions throughout my adult life, but will be voting for McCain/Palin. Liberals have deteriorated into some kind of Leviathan I no longer recognize and can never, ever support.

Peachick, I was really moved by your comment.

I remember when John F. Kennedy was assasinated.

I was 10 years old. My parents voted for Nixon, but I never heard one unkind word from them about “our President.” And John F. Kennedy was our President. He was the President of all Americans, and we held him in the highest respect.

The day he was shot, the Principal of my Christian school had us all take a walk outside. It was a gray November day and the mood was somber. We all felt like the world was coming to an end.

When I got home I sat in my bedroom by the radio, listening to the news. John F. Kennedy was barely hanging onto life. I sat there and prayed that God would keep him alive.

When he died, we were all devastated. He was our President.

In 1968 when I was in 10th grade, Bobby Kennedy was shot and killed and I was even more depressed. I didn’t know anything about politics, but Bobby Kennedy was JFK’s brother. We all knew him. We had watched him with Jackie at the funeral. Now he was running for president and someone killed him and he had left behind a wife and several children.

Again, our hearts were broken.

I was raised in a Christian Republican home in Indiana, but we were all Americans. And we all suffered from the same loss. A loss of some truly great leaders.

WOW what alot of incredable comments here. I agree with 98% of what has been said here. I am so ashamed of what the dem party has become and I am so proud of Sarah. I have been a dem for 38yrs. but these feft wingnuts are not my sisters. I still can not believe what the dems did to Hillary, and so I am an Inependent now. I can not under any cicumstance vote for any ticket with bo on it and every day that goes by I find I can relate to repubs more. I love my family, my children, my COUNTRY that we live in.The heart of true Americans is not something to make a mockery of. I was raised by a mother and a grand mother who I have deep respect for and have raised my children who I am proud to say are loving, RESPECTFUL, intelligent, free thinking young adults that understand truth and integrity are the foundation for character and happiness. Never take freedom for granted. So you see I don’t know if I have anything in common with these exstream leftist. I must be true to myself and my core values. I am glad that I found this site and some kindered souls.
